As a family owned business with over 20 years experience, our management, staff and long term contractors are so well known and respected in the USA and Caribbean boating communities as being totally committed to customer service.

Our “DIY by owner or contractor” yard is equipped with a BFM 70 MARINE TRAVELIFT capable of hauling vessels up to 60 tons with a 18ft beam and 7.5ft draft and we also have a MULTIHULL TRAVELIFT capable of hauling up to 30 tons with a 26ft beam and 8.5ft draft plus we have all of our other heavy duty equipment which can take care of all of your needs.

The Maritima del Atlantico Boatyard, also known as Maratlantico, is located in the Ocean World Marina premises (also a family owned business) on the historically known “safe-from-storms” North Coast of the Dominican Republic.  Ocean World Marina has 12ft controlled depth in their small vessel section with specials on longer-term stays which also apply to boatyard storage. They also provide a fast and easy check-in service in English as a port of entry/departure with all officials on-site and they have the only fuel dock on the North Coast with premium diesel and gasoline, making them the only full-service marina and boatyard located between the heavily travelled Florida/Bahamas area and Puerto Rico/Eastern Caribbean route.

Our boatyard, Ocean World Marina plus the Ocean World Marine Park are all fully fenced with 24/7 security access gates, 24/7 security guards plus full perimeter and inside lighting throughout the whole complex for your peace of mind, which is backed up by very large generators if the power goes out which unfortunately happens quite often in the Dominican Republic. Even though the Dominican Republic is known by many as a very friendly and safe tourist destination, you will come to realize that all of us local people take very good care of our tourists so hence why the Dominican Republic is the largest tourist destination in the Caribbean.

Office hours:  9am – 5pm Monday – Friday, Saturday 8:00 am-12 pm and Boatyard hours: 8:00 am – 5:00 pm  Monday – Friday and Saturday 8:00am – 12:00pm (Closed on Sundays and Public Holidays).

Accommodation: There are “NO live-a-board facilities currently available on-site”, however we have contacts for well priced accommodation with swimming pools nearby that we can assist you with.

Included in the rates: Daytime bathroom and warm shower facilities at Ocean World Marina along with free wi-fi at the Ocean World Marina reception plus you get use of their gym.  Ocean World Marina can also arrange a free return shopping shuttle to a well stocked large supermarket or speak to us about a taxi to another two large supermarkets, airports, tours and so much more for you or your boat’s needs.

Laundry: Ocean World Marina also has a superb wash, dry, fold service and more (tokens can be bought at Ocean World Marina reception).

Eating Out: On-site we have the very popular “Ocean World Terrace Restaurant” looking out over the marina for breakfast (Saturday & Sundays), lunch and dinner (7 days a week) with an inside ATM machine. Here they host many special events and on Friday nights they have local bands with outside dancing that you can join in with for a great cultural experience.  Then there is breakfasts 7 days a week very near our office with a pool or others a few minutes walk up the road out of the main security gate, where you will find many international and local cuisine restaurants to choose from plus a small grocery shop (colmado), kiosk for mobile phone minutes, pharmacy, etc.

Sourcing or bringing in parts: Puerto Plata and Santiago airports have daily flights from USA and Europe plus freight companies based in Florida, USA ship-in daily to their many branches in Puerto Plata and are a safe and fast way to bring in items that you cannot source here in the North or South Coast chandleries (heavier items can be shipped in by sea to our nearby large port). We can assist you with this service.

Tourism: Puerto Plata is the original and third largest tourist city so it has so much historical and fun tourism to offer, hence why it has a very large expat base where one can enjoy Carnival for the whole month of February every weekend, also it has a superb choice of local and international dining experiences, rum, cigar and chocolate factories, an Amber Museum, world class watersport events and fun waterfall activities, golf courses, zip lines, horse riding, hiking, caves, buggy rides, monkey zoo, Ocean World Adventure Park and so much more so feel free to ask us for contact details on fully Licenced English speaking locally based tour operators.

Local Services: There is a great choice of large supermarkets for provisioning, especially if heading North!, dermatologists, doctors/pharmacies, dentists, vets, private or govt. hospitals/clinics and so much more so there’s a very good chance that you can always find what you need here in Puerto Plata.
